In today’s society we have become very skilled at multi-tasking and functioning on “auto-pilot”. Many of us are in survival mode - just trying to get through the day. Our culture of checking out contributes to various physical and mental health issues. Our bodies are meant to move, stretch and be lived in!
Yoga offers a path to unite the mind, body and soul, counteracting the numerous demands of daily life. A regular yoga practice increases mental clarity and physical agility while reducing stress, tension and inflammation (among many other things!). Following the yoga path helps us move from surviving on auto-pilot into a fully thriving life - Moving from surviving into thriving!
As a both a registered nurse and a yoga teacher, I understand the human body and how it works. Combining my two passions, I provide yoga instruction designed to increase your flexibility and strength while focusing on safety and alignment. I guide you through mindful movement, teaching you what muscles to activate and why. I strive to create positive experiences in a supportive and uplifting environment. I incorporate music, breathing techniques, thoughtful questions and occasional hilarious jokes!
I provide live online yoga classes, in-person and online private and small group yoga lessons, and individual stand up paddle board (SUP) yoga instruction. In-person lessons in Rockville, MD and the surrounding areas.
Whether you want to safely learn difficult poses, build strength and flexibility, calm your mind through meditation and mindful movement or try something new, I can help!
